13th Mausoleum Is Now at The Curious Hippo

Something strange has taken root in Hutto.

We are thrilled to announce that 13th Mausoleum now has a permanent physical retail location inside The Curious Hippo in Hutto, Texas. For the first time, you can step into a local shop and explore a rotating selection of our skull replicas, specimens, gothic décor, horror collectibles, handmade curiosities, and other objects that refuse to behave like ordinary merchandise.

A Store Made for the Curious

The Curious Hippo feels less like a conventional shop and more like a cabinet of curiosities expanded to architectural proportions. Dark walls, antique-inspired details, chandeliers, candlelight, dramatic red curtains, and walls filled with art create the perfect setting for independent artists, makers, collectors, and purveyors of unusual things.

Step Into Our Corner of the Mausoleum

Our collection rests beneath pointed gothic arches against a stone cathedral backdrop—a small mausoleum within The Curious Hippo. On the shelves you may discover realistic skull replicas, preserved specimens, framed insects, mummy-inspired pieces, cryptid curiosities, miniature horrors, jewelry, art, and strange little relics waiting for the right collector.

The selection will continue to change. Some pieces are handmade or produced in limited quantities, while others will rotate as we test new creations and prepare for upcoming events. A visit this month may look very different from your next.

More Than a Shelf

Having a place where you can see our work in person means a great deal to us. Photographs can show the outline of a skull or the color of a painted finish, but they cannot fully capture scale, texture, weight, or the small details that make a piece feel as though it came from a forgotten collection.
